Sample of the Business Travel Requirements for a Ukraine Visa for Australian Citizens

  1. Visa Validity

    Visa is valid from the date of issue. Entry and exit must occur within the validity of the visa.

    The validity of the issued visa is at the discretion of the Embassy/Consulate and may vary to that advertised.

  2. Duration of Stay

    Duration of stay permitted is based on the applicant's requested dates and is issued at the Consular Officer's discretion.The maximum duration of stay is 90 days per 180 days.

  3. Passport

    The applicant's actual passport. The passport must:

    • Be valid for six months beyond exit date
    • Have two blank facing visa pages

  4. Photograph(s)

    You must provide a photograph. Upload your photo and we will print it to the exact specifications required for this visa. Follow https://au.visacentral.com/photo-serviceto upload your photo.

    Alternatively, you may provide one colour, passport-type photograph that meets the following strict criteria: be taken within the last twelve months against an all-white background and printed on high-quality photo paper; be 45mm (h) by 35mm (w); provide the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression. You may wear neither eyeglasses nor headwear except for religious purposes. Your photo should be glued to the designated section of the visa application form (in the absence of a designated area, affix to the top right or top left corner).

    Please note the original photograph provided with the application form must be the same photo that has been uploaded to the online visa application form. Please refer to the "Visa Application Form" hover box for further information.

  5. Letter of Invitation

    You must provide a Letter of Invitation from the entity you are visiting in the Ukraine.  The letter must:

    • Originate from a legal person or entity registered in the Ukraine
    • Be printed on official company letterhead
    • Include the registration number assigned by the Unified State Registry
    • Include the applicant's full name as it appears in their passport
    • Include the applicant's date of birth, place of birth and nationality
    • Include the applicant's passport number, expiration date and place of issuance
    • Include the applicant's Ukraine residence, purpose of visit and duration of stay in the Ukraine
    • Include the entry and exit dates to the Ukraine
    • Include the number of entries requested
    • Explain related trip costs and how they will be covered
    • Be signed and dated by the applicant

  6. Proof of Travel Arrangements

    Details of travel arrangements. These must be provided as a copy of the flight confirmation showing exact entry and exit dates and locations.

  7. Proof of Travel Insurance

    Copy of actual travel insurance policy certificate. The certificate must state:

    • Full name of the applicant
    • That the policy is valid for the duration of the entire trip

  8. Proof of Financial Means

    Evidence of available funds. This must be provided as:

    • A current bank statement no more than three months old, showing transactions for the last 3 months - A credit card statement will not be accepted
    • Showing the applicants name
    • Showing a minimum of $1,000 per applicant  

  9. Visa Application Form

    The Embassy of Ukraine requires a visa application form that is completed online. To access the Online Visa Form follow the link: http://visa.mfa.gov.ua
     
    ** IMPORTANT **

    Please ensure you include your name exactly as it appears in your passport - Applicants with a middle name/s must include the Middle name(s) in the First name(s) (Given name(s)) field of the online application form. 

    Once the online application form has been completed, applicants will be required to:

    • Upload a photo - the same photo as the one which will be affixed to the form must be used. The photograph must be uploaded in JPEG format and must be 3x4 aspect ratio.
    • Schedule a Lodgement date and time - Please select the next available time on the next available working day -  This is a mandatory requirement in order to proceed with the online application process. Please note that applicants are not required to apply in person on the scheduled appointment date/time - normal VisaCentral lodgement procedures will apply.

    Once all required documents have been uploaded, the completed Online Visa Application Form which appears at the end of the online process must be printed and signed by the applicant.

    Hard copies of all documents must still be submitted to the Embassy with the passport, including the two page application form which needs to be printed out at the end of the online process, signed and sent to us in original.

    The Embassy will not accept applications which have not been completed online prior to lodgement.

  11. Applicants Born in the Ukraine

    Applicants born in the Ukraine must contact the Embassy of the Ukraine directly on 02 6247 2182. The Embassy of the Ukraine does not issue visas for Ukrainian citizens who also hold dual citizenship as they are still considered a citizen of the Ukraine only. Please contact the Embassy directly for further information on the law regarding Citizenship of Ukraine 2001.

  12. Visa Conditions

    Those applying for a visa longer than 3 months need to present an HIV test certificate.

  13. Minors

    Visas will be issued free of charge to children under 6 years of age.

    Applicants aged 6 years or over, will be required to pay the visa fee.

  14. Travel to Crimea

    The Embassy of the Ukraine in Australia has confirmed that visas will not be issued to applicants who intend to travel to the region of Crimea.

  15. Traveller Registration (Highly Recommended)

Sample of the Tourist Travel Requirements for a Ukraine Visa for Australian Citizens

  1. Visa On Arrival May be Possible

    A Single Entry Tourist visa can be obtained upon arrival for stays up to 15 days against payment of 2550 Ukrainian Hryvna (approx. USD $100.00). The traveller must:

    • Enter via Boryspil Kiev, Zhuliany Kiev, Odessa Airport in Odessa and Odessa Sea Port in Odessa ONLY
    • Enter via Zhuliany Kiev, Odessa Airport in Odessa and Odessa Sea Port in Odessa between the hours of 08:00am and 8:00 pm ONLY and 24 hours/7 days for Boryspil Kiev Airport.
    • Carry documents proving the tourist nature of the trip  - hotel bookings, excursion bookings, travel vouchers or contract for the provision of tourist service
    • Hold a passport valid at least six months beyond intended stay with two blank visa pages
    • Hold proof of sufficient funds
    • Hold proof of onward/ return airline tickets
    • Hold all documents required for the next destination
    • Hold a Visa for the next destination, if required
    • Confirm with their airline that boarding will be permitted without a visa as these conditions are subject to change

    Travellers who do not meet the above requirements must obtain a visa prior to departure. The requirements can be found within the VisaCentral application pack.

    • A copy of the hotel confirmation or tour confirmation from either a Ukrainian or Australian tourist agency showing tour details and hotel booking confirmation for the entire duration of stay
    • A copy of the flight confirmation showing exact entry and exit dates for all entries into the Ukraine

    For those who are traveling on a cruiseship and wish to go onshore for a day trip a visa is still required. If they have no accommodation booked onshore and will be sleeping onboard the ship the Embassy will accept an invoice from the cruise company showing it is fully paid and a detailed cruise itinerary.

  7. Proof of Travel Insurance

    Copy of actual travel insurance policy certificate. The certificate must state:

    • Full name of the applicant
    • That the policy is valid for the duration of the entire trip

Please contact the Embassy directly for further information on the law regarding Citizenship of Ukraine 2001. If they are deemed eligible to apply for a visa by the Embassy then the applicant must provide proof of cancellation of their Ukrainian citizenship. Visa issuance will be determined by the Embassy and no refund will be provided for visas which have been refused. Further documentation may be requested by the Embassy upon assessment of the visa application.

  13. Staying with family or friends

    If the traveller is staying with family or friends at a private address in the Ukraine the applicant must provide a notarized letter of invitation from the inviting party. The invitation needs to contain the full name of the invitee, details of his/her passport and temporary/permanent residency permit (for foreigners residing in the Ukraine), address and full name of the person being invited, information about his/her date and place of birth, nationality, passport details, place of residency, purpose of visit, duration of intended visit to the Ukraine, number of entries, place of stay in the Ukraine and include an acceptance of financial responsibility for the applicant.

    The invitation letter will need to be accompanied by a copy of the biodata page of the inviting person's passport  and temporary or permanent residency permit (for foreigners residing in the Ukraine). Please advise the inviting party in the Ukraine to contact their local notary public regarding information on obtaining the official notarised letter of invitation.

  14. Humanitarian Visits

    Applicants requesting a Humanitarian Visa must submit a written confirmation of the Humanitarian commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine about humanitarian aid or charity activities.

  15. Minors
